Well she isn’t necessarily going keto, but trying to lower her carb intake. I gusss my real question is if this product is junk or not.
Why not just have her reduce her carb intake?
No pill or powder will justify doing that besides her own actions and own will. That is something mental that will have to change
Two schools of thought are- A, she tries to meal replace with it, or B, it’s just a novice idea( she’s not as savvy to fitness and health, so it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of products).
I’ll be honest, up in till I did carbivor for 5 days, I was low key hooked on pre’s and stimulant based sups. But now they’re pretty weak.
I only intend on using them in certain situations. But before, I think I had her current mentality.
Then you solved your own issue. She has to mentally embrace going low carb, know the proper food sources, and make the correct decisions.
You can’t supplement a bad diet. period.
I don’t care how many pills or powders you feed her it won’t mentally change her decisions.
ya know I used to have that mindset, that I have to have some sort of stim PWO to get a good lift in. Once i took a stim break and ran Vasoblitz a couple months back, I hit PRs with close to no stims. Proves to me nitrates and other ingredients really help out and now I just use stims for fun!
As bob said the mindset is the hardest. If i go 48 hours with no carbs my body just kicks in to my brain and I suddenly need to eat a pizza or something with carbs. Just gotta get through those plateaus…this is why I just eat right most days, a good mix of things I like (protein etc…) and throw in recipes from Keto to mix it up. End of the day we all know when your eating right vs poorly… just gotta embrace that shit!!
@Mike @TheChadd y’all got recipes you particularly love?
I’ll show you mine if you show me yours first.
My wife does all the cooking, lol. Most of the recipes are pretty simple (e.g. bacon wrapped chicken thighs, meatballs with marinara and cheese, crab legs, oysters, stuffed jalapenos, etc…). Here are some of the less trivial ones…I can get the recipes for ya:
- Beef cabbage soup (think beef barley but with cabbage)
- roasted brussels sprouts (there’s a trick to getting them crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside)
- Chocolate peanut butter bars (they are crack to me)
- “fool proof” homemade mayo (we are trying to cut down on high omega-6 oils)
I do in fact want the recipe for the first 3!
Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Trim stems and outer leaves, slice in half or thirds. Toss in lots of oil of your choice and add a good amount of salt, let the oil absorb for about 10-15 minutes before roasting. Roast on a foil-lined sheet pan at 425 degrees for 30 min. They should get very brown and crispy. The key is to use lots of oil here, don’t skimp. Use more than you think you need.
Beef Cabbage Soup
My wife said she doesn’t use a recipe for this; so I can’t get you exactly what she makes. She says any low carb cabbage roll soup online should do, and this one is pretty close (but she makes more of a soup than a stew).
Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars
We follow this recipe. Only difference is she uses sucralose/erythritol instead, and 4 ounces of the Lilly chocolate since that’s the size they come in (just makes the shell a little thicker…which is a good thing,
)
What you got?
Keto Pizza:
melt 6 oz of mozzarella per personal pizza (the shitty grocery store kind, not the fresh Italian stuff) in the microwave pretty thoroughly, until it’s totally goo, and add some dried oregano and red pepper flakes. Stir in 3 eggs yolks, and stir hard and fast. It’ll look like you totally fucked up and ruined it for like 3 minutes and then all of a sudden boom, it’s a cohesive paste. Pour onto parchment paper, use another piece of parchment paper to smush it flat and round, and toss it in the fridge to firm up. Meantime preheat the oven to 475 with a sheet pan in the oven. When the oven is hot, peel the top parchment off, top with a little sauce and your toppings of choice. Pepperoni, spinach, bacon, chicken, parmesan, whatever. Pick it up by the bottom parchment and put on the sizzling hot pan, bake for 8-10 minutes.
Mississippi Pot Roast
Get a 4-5 pound chuck roast in a crock pot. Dump in a packet of au jus gravy mix, a packet of ranch mix, a handful of pepperonccinis, and half a stick of butter. Cook until it’s falling apart and there’s lots of “sauce.” Shred and serve over mashed cauliflower with plenty of the sauce.
7 Layer Cookie Bars
Those keto bars look legit!
Steak and eggs and time-restricted feeding.
I’m boring.
I do like this Meatza recipe though:
It taught me the awesomeness of a dash of caraway seed in beef.
