I know it’s sacrilege…but I like PreJym…simple and effective…No fancy stims
It’s definitely not a bad product. Nothing terribly exciting, but it does do the basics pretty well. Decent if not massive dose of cit mal. Good doses of tyrosine and taurine, the total cholinerigic benefits from the low doses of A-GPC and hup-A may be sufficient together, and a solid dose of caffeine, of course. A bit low on the Creatine, BA, and betaine, which means you may need to get a bit more elsewhere though to hit your daily totals, which is unfortunate, but they’re not going to be real players in terms of acute effects either way. Probably his way of selling a post-workout that has the rest I’d guess?
Thanks for the response. So how’d you arrive at the 500mg dose?
I may be thinking of someone else, but i think @muscleupcrohn is (or was?) actually an industry formulator. If so, kinda unfair to imply that he’s just an internet complainer. Do we “just trust” formulators or don’t we?
Oh and I appreciate that. As stated in one of my posts today (blaming LegionPulse) it’s about the end goal. If I continue to improve in the gym and can continue to be a 51 year old that looks like he’s in his 30’s then I’ve accomplished my goal. If it is a result of utilizing both Pre and Post Jym…then great. It’s about the end goal. No different than saying just because someone utilizes HGH that automatically means they will be a Professional Athlete or jacked…not happening if you are sitting on the couch and not putting the work. Just random thoughts to kick off 2020.
Since we do allow for 6 caps total to be taken per day, the mega dose would actually feature 1,000mgs like many other Lion’s Mane products. However, I would say that we are making an attempt at making 500mgs slightly more efficacious by using capsules that go past the gut. This actually can preserve the actives and decrease the likelihood of them becoming damaged in stomach acid, which is a trend that I think will increase over the next year or so. Some say “straight to the gut” is as good as injection, but I’m a bit skeptical of that claim. I don’t think it’s “as good” as injection, but when given the option to potentially protect the contents from acidic degradation certainly seems like a better option to me than going with a straight gelatin capsule…and this can apply to a very wide range of ingredients.
Yup. Was and is. But maybe I haven’t earned his trust yet?
Got it. So seeing you can use 6 caps, I’d guess your Bacopa is probably a 20:1 extract, give or take, allowing you to hit 300mg/day of a 20:1 extract, which one study used, and which Bacognize and Synapsa are approximately (although they are standardized too). Am I off base on that guess?
Haven’t seen anything notable yet
shrug
Not a fan of NootropiMax? Or FitMax?
Never taken it.
I really wish more people could ready between the lines. But there’s compromises that have to be made for all sorts of reasons. It does pain me a bit in this world of half-scoop, full-scoop, 2 scoop etc. and how that affects number of servings. At the end of the day, I think we’re all trying to make things that can deliver the most bang for the buck by whatever means we can while still trying to pay our bills. Maybe one day we’ll start seeing full-clinical dosages across the board with a higher retail price or we’ll begin to see the margins begin to drop as these products become commoditized.
And before I’m slammed for formulating and criticizing other products, the guy with Glaxon’s first post here was criticizing another company’s product.
The other people at PricePlow seemed to really enjoy them.
Why? Because I’m passionate. We all wanna see Cellucor really come out with something mind-blowing. Maybe I put them on a pedestal because I know that they’re capable. As a consumer, I was disappointed as I had high hopes for the big scoop.
Oh, I’m not saying you shouldn’t criticize others, not by a long shot. I’m just preemptively saying that I’m not the only formulator here being critical of other products. I’m in no position to say you can’t do the same.
I think there’s definitely a consumer part of all of us when looking at these things that is still very much a part of us whether its in the creation of a product, or better yet when we choose to take someone else’s. There’s a lotta unsung heroes out there that won’t get much attention in this realm, but are doing great things.
