New supplement thread

I think I get what you’re saying.

Some products seem like they’re trying to be magic silver bullets that contain everything, and there’s a tendency to focus on that total “g” count instead of the dose for each ingredient.

This leads to disappointment when I see a low dosage for a specific ingredient: I’d rather pay less and have the company not bother.

So I certainly think there’s a market for more “focused” products that skimp on nothing – where every ingredient packs a punch. Personally, I’d love to see a product that included a hefty dose of Selenium – that’s just one example.

(There’s a neat branding opportunity there, too – having each product take on it own persona based around its select hand-picked ingredients, etc.)

According to Justin Hall of Supplement Snoop, the Ghost energy drink is going to be a fully disclosed formula along with something new to the energy drink market.

Snoop is a good dude.
He went to my highschool
small world.

You lived in supplement central. Like the Beverly Hills 90210 of supplements. ‘Hey Brandon we have a rally today to save DMHA…are you going?’

Hoping it’s not a stim bomb. 200mg of caffeine would be the sweet spot (for me).

Bacon GAINZZZZ

Ghost Rob Libsett Whisky Sour Legend
BA increased from 2g to 3.2g
Agmatine replaced by 1g Nitrosigine
50mg Actigin added and replaced L-Norvaline
Caffeine bumped to 250 from 202
rhodiola, NADH, and Rauwolfia dropped for 100mg Neurofactor

That is an interesting formula

Fun fact, you can calculate the maximum (and minimum) amount of CDP-Choline in the product with a little math.

Sodium benzoate is listed above CDP, which means that there has to be more of it than there is CDP, since that’s how ingredients in a proprietary blend have to be listed. This is the only form of sodium in the product. Since there’s 30mg sodium per serving listed, and sodium benzoate is ~16% sodium, there should be ~188mg sodium benzoate per serving. Also, given that there’s only one form of calcium (calcium chloride), and it’s listed below CDP, and there’s 10mg calcium per serving, and calcium chloride is ~36% calcium, there’s ~28mg calcium chloride per serving.

So there should be somewhere between 28 and 188mg CDP-Choline per serving, if my math checks out.

I mean, technically there are studied doses of things like spirulina, which appears to have unique benefits beyond what normal “greens” do, even at pretty low doses, but spirulina can be a nightmare in terms of taste and even color, so I understand not using a “full” 2 grams (or potentially more) per day of it.

5g spirulina is probably the biggest dose I’ve ever seen in a powdered product that isn’t literally just bulk spirulina powder. How’s the taste?

Bad.

Wondering out loud if this may be a preview of a reformulated Ghost Legend. I thought somebody mentioned on here that they may indeed be introducing that at some point this year…I could be wrong of course.

Incorrect
This is just a special limited edition flavor and formula (Kind of like how they did it with MAXX & CG3)
This was also notated on their IG when fans asked about it as well.

“Functional Food” from Onnit, surprisingly not ridiculously priced:
